Kim Spitznagel

Dr. Kim Spitznagel, founder and CEO of Outr.Net Inc. has 25 years of industry experience in bringing leading-edge software systems to practical application. As an executive at Motorola, Apple and NeXT, he has successfully implemented large-scale enterprise systems ranging from analytical research and development systems to advanced factory automation and control systems. He has four engineering degrees including a Masters Degree and a PhD from the University of Florida.

Welcome and thanks for your interest in exploring the Outr.Net web site.

The Wireless Internet is an area of tremendous excitement and growth, and rightly so. The level of innovation and opportunity today is comparable to that of the PC business in the early 80s, and the World Wide Web in the early 90s. Astonishing developments in the coming decade will have a profound effect on how every one of us works and plays.

Outr.Net was started in 1997 with a vision of becoming the elite software developer for the Wireless Internet. Since then, our market has grown and changed dramatically, and we have faced many challenges as we have grown along with it.

However, our core values since the first day have remained the same, and have served us very well. These values are at the heart of how we make decisions, and in how we do business, every day. They have also differentiated us in our marketplace.

Our most important value is an uncompromising approach to making good on commitments. This is core to how we recruit, train and motivate our associates, how we have built our software development processes, systems and infrastructure, and how we work in partnership with our clients and partners. We are convinced that running our business this way is not only the right thing to do, it is simply good business - and we have been rewarded with very high levels of referral and repeat business.

Another important value is that there are no hidden agendas with our clients. Many of the solutions that we develop do require that we incorporate the products or services of others in the Wireless Internet value chain, and we enjoy excellent working relationships with virtually all of them, but are not bound by exclusive relationships with anyone. Our success isnít measured by how many devices we sell, or how much airtime we sell, or how much middleware we license. Our success is measured solely by the satisfaction of our clients with the software that we develop for them. We represent our client, and only our client, in recommending components and developing custom software for their solution.

If you are seeking a software development partner for your Wireless Internet project, I trust that you will find these qualities in every aspect of Outr.Net, and that you will find us to be professional, responsive, and enjoyable to work with. Always feel free to contact me personally, at any time to provide feedback on your experiences with Outr.Net.

Sincerely,

Kim Spitznagel

Good Works

Outr.Net's associates believe in the importance of giving back to the community, and demonstrate this by regularly donating time, effort and funds to a variety of worthwhile not-for-profit organizations, including the following:

Covenant House. Covenant House is the largest privately-funded childcare agency in the United States providing shelter and service to homeless and runaway youth. In addition to food, shelter, clothing and crisis care, Covenant House provides a variety of services to homeless youth including health care, education, vocational preparation, drug abuse treatment and prevention programs, legal services, recreation, mother/child programs, transitional living programs, street outreach and aftercare. In recent years Outr.Net's associates have gathered to donate items and assemble gifts, to ensure that everyone at Covenant House of Fort Lauderdale has a gift to open during the Christmas Holidays.

Friends of Africa International. Friends of Africa International is a non-profit organization [501 c.3.] which supports effective and established foundations, research centers, and programs designed to preserve and protect African wildlife, environment, and culture from the constant threat of extinction. Outr.Net's associates donated their time to develop the website for this charitable organization, and Dr. Spitznagel serves as a member of FOAI's International Advisory Board.

InternetCoast. The InternetCoast is made up of a collection of Internet companies and organizations operating in Southeast Florida that is working to reach a "critical mass" of economic development - in the same way that other U.S. technology clusters like Silicon Valley have grown in the past. Outr.Net's associates have contributed to the marketing efforts of this organization since it's early inception.

Kravis Center. The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, located in West Palm Beach, Florida, is a not-for-profit performing arts center. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life in Palm Beach County by presenting a diverse schedule of national and international performing artists and companies of the highest quality. The Kravis Center also fosters arts education by offering comprehensive educational and community outreach programs. Dr. Spitznagel is a donor and a member of the Technology Committee for the Kravis Center.

Paging Developer Community. The Paging Technology Committee is a trade association through which industry-standard technologies are reviewed and developed for all paging network carriers. Dr. Spitznagel was nominated to represent the software development community and to chair its Developer Community group, with a mission is to foster development of software applications that bring new value to the paging community. This group now has approximately 300 members, and is a resource that provides inputs and feedback to the paging industry on future protocols and devices.

Work 101. Work 101 introduces disadvantaged men and women to the work world by providing transitional employment in a supportive setting. To accomplish its mission, Work 101 has established a light manufacturing business - Imprint Cartridge Works - that provides jobs in production, customer service, sales and transportation. Imprint purchased an Overnight Apptm for this operation, and Outr.Net donated significant additional software development to customize this application to Imprint's business processes.
